A short rant...

You know racism has been a topic of conversation lately in the news. It has made a lot of us think about how we treat other people, and the things that we say. It has even made people of a particular race think about how they talk to, and about someone in their own race. So why does USA Today think that entitling a story... "Asian Women in Tech fight to Crack Bamboo ceiling". If I was Asian, I would be pretty upset at this. It's not that USA Today was trying to come up with a racist title, they were trying to be cute, but this is the type of thing that people of other races mean when they talk about white elitism. The authors name is Jessica Guynn, which I thought at first maybe an Asian name (which wouldn't make it any better), so I looked her up and this is her image.....

How does stuff like this slip by? How do you write a story in support of a gender of a particular race, and then make fun of the race itself?
